Valley Spur Trail System Cross Country Ski Report – 03/15

There is still great skiing! Be sure to check the temps to find the sweet spot. Dan will be monitoring the trails and grooming as temperatures allow.

The official ski season at Valley Spur runs from December 15th to March 15th but we will continue to monitor the trail conditions and do some limited grooming until we lose our base or with no new snow the trails will just become unsafe to ski. The long term forecast tells a story of no new snow but daytime temps above freezing and sunshine will soften things enough to make for pretty decent skiing. As of today all trails are open but please remember that timing is everything. Don’t go too early when it’s icy and don’t go too late when it’s sticky. Stay safe and enjoy the Spring skiing!

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 12/27 and the trails are still to soft to groom. Grooming would destroy the trails and snow we have now. I am going out to ski at 10 am. I will report more after that. Big storm coming in Sunday night into Monday. UPDATE: skiing is pretty good today. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less
