Shanty Creek Snow Report – 01/13

Snowmaking has been incredible.

As of this Saturday, 100% of Schuss Mountain’s groom-able terrain will be open.

Huge thanks to our crew for the tireless hours fighting with Mother Nature this early season.

(The only runs still officially closed will be the Glades where natural snow is needed before deemed safe.)

Schuss Mountain

January 13

Schuss Mountain is forecast to hit the mid-20’s today with light snow showers. The day will start with 29 runs and will have additional runs added though out the day. There will be 5 lifts spinning today from 9am-9pm (Yellow, Pink, Purple, Red and Magic Carpet). The Red Lift closes at 4:15pm.

Snowmaking efforts have been incredible this past week. On Saturday 100% of Schuss Mountain’s groom-able slopes will be open. (The only runs not officially open will be in The Glades where natural snowfall is still needed before they can be deemed safe to open.) All that snowmaking has also made it possible for the crew to rebuild The Monster Park on Purple Daze; it will open tomorrow.

The Alpine Tubing Park will reopen on Friday at 4pm.

Three Nordic trails were rolled on Monday: Pinecone, Winter Brook, and the Schuss multipurpose trail for snowshoeing and fat tire biking. Trail fees are complimentary until more snow falls and the big cat can more properly track set the trails.
