XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/16

It was so fun to see so many new and familiar folks heading to the trails in the bright sunshine yesterday! This group took the free Saturday ski lesson in the morning, and then private ski lessons in the afternoon!

Conditions remain very good on most of the trails. Thin spots and debris are showing up in some places, and the trail crew has been patching some of the larger thin spots. Groomer Mike will snowcomb the skating lanes this morning. The tracks are still decent, and hopefully we will get some more snow this week and be able to reset them. All trails are open for classic and skate skiing, with Tall Pines being the most marginal due to the pine needles. Rolling Hills, Manitou, Trapper’s Cabin and Wild Turkey are in the best condition.
