Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 01/24

We wait for this special moment all year, the moment when there is finally enough snow for the first groom on the trails that connect Forbush Corner Nordic to Hartwick Pines State Park.

Todd was able to groom Roberts Rd, Townline Rd and then onto the newly reclaimed original connector that will take skiers into the park. This new connector is on the 80 acres being purchased through our capital campaign funds. Many people have already contributed half the needed funds to finalize the purchase. If you enjoy skiing this new trail and want to see more trails developed please consider making a contribution to help this happen.

As you can see, the very cold snow set up nice and firm. Still a bit thin in places to set tracks, but a joy for skating. I took these pictures this morning. Since then, we have picked up an additional 2 inches of fluffy lake effect snow.

Ski Michigan

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> We will be closed starting Saturday March 7th until the warms temps and rain ends. Looks like temps drop on Wednesday and some possibility of snow. We will reassess the trails at that time and decide when we can open again. We have a lot of base on the the trails and fully expect most of it to survive.
Founders day is this Saturday. We will have hot dogs, black bean burgers, drinks and some sides. We usually do a potluck if you want to bring something to share. $10 trail fees for the remainder of the season. #forbush #SkiMichigan
