Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 02/10

Good Morning Badgers,

23 degrees and an inch+ of new snow overnight is allowing Jim and Dave to reset the entire vasa trail system today. There are still some short sections of thin snow where new tracks won’t be feasible, but overall things are turning out really nicely with a new top coat of snow to work with. They have finished the 5k, 10k, Anita’s, Special K, and have been working on the Stadium area in Timber Ridge. They have just set out to finish the 25k loop, so be advised they will be on the trail for a couple more hours.

The grooming crew and other “citizen shovelers” have been working hard on the trail this week to prepare it for this weekend’s North American Vasa Festival of Races (Feb 12-13), and everyone’s efforts are paying off!

I want to express deep gratitude to those who have taken up their shovels and skied out to bring snow on to some of the thin areas along the trail system. This is a dedicated community effort, and we here on the TART Vasa grooming crew are proud to be taking part in it with you.

Cheers, James…02/10/22…10:15 AM
