Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 02/19

And just like that, we have a whole new ski trail! Looks like the best skiing will be later in the day…❄️❄️❄️❄️

Snowy Day Badgers!

What a delight to be greeted with a replenishing snow storm after a mid-week thaw.

John reports 11 degrees and 6” new powdery snow overnight, with high gusty winds creating drifts up to 4’ (!!!) in open areas like power line crossings.

He is making his way around the trail system with a roller to prep the surface for Jim and Roger, who will follow him with grooming drags, setting tracks and skate lane corduroy.

The finishing groomers will progress around the trail system in this order: 5k, 10k, 25k, 3k. So skiing earlier in the day will be focused where they have completed their pass. Keep in mind with this much new snow it can take most of the day to get the entire trail system packed and groomed. Enjoy!❄️❄️❄️

Cheers, James…02/19/22…7:30 AM
