Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 03/16
Today’s trail recon was very encouraging! 99% of the trails were still completely covered with just a few icy patches and one open area. We still have 36 hours above freezing to go yet, but if it clouds up the sun will not do as much damage. 90% of the trail system looks like the picture on the left.
Some of the south facing hills will probably open up(picture on the right), but the spots will be between long stretches of good skiing. It will be too warm tomorrow to groom so we will open on Friday at 9 if it sets up overnight on Thursday. Still a lot of good skiing to be had out there.

After the storm really figures out where it is going, we will make a call and reopen sometime this week. Windy and snowing currently at the corner. 240 loop, Ridge, Pancake, Badlands and Green Loop get the fresh groom this morning. All trails open. 100% coverage. FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> Today is Founders Day at the Corner and Dave has made sure that we would have plenty of snow to groom and ski to celebrate. The raffle drawing for the Reid Goble fundraiser is also on tap at 10AM. We plan to groom the majority of our trails, tilling in the 4 to 6 inches received over the last few days, putting us back to 100% coverage. Trail passes for non-season pass holders are reduced to $10. A major winter storm is forecast starting late Saturday night and going into Monday for the northern lower and UP. Guess you could say today is the calm before the storm. Check out the weather forecast and stay informed. Open at 9. Gates close at 5.

We expect to groom, but expect soft conditions and new snow accumulating. This is great news for tomorrow. We will be able to open up the whole trail system with great conditions. The forecast for Sunday and Monday is for a major winter storm. We may have to close and wait this storm out. Stay tuned. We will see how it goes.
