Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 03/17
Thursday March 17th trail update: Ugh, it’s been almost 60 and sunny all day, which is great for sitting on the deck in shorts and a t-shirt, but not great for ski trails. We did have some larger areas open up today which will make it hard to get to the good areas on the west trails and the Pines loop. We will see what we can do with the East trails tomorrow and of course Linda’s loop and Frank’s way will still be great for skiing. Shop opens at 9 on Friday.

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> We are getting positive feedback from skiers skiing our new Townline Rd reroute ( part of the Pines Loop post A to B ) that we worked on over the summer. It runs through land that was devasted by a fire in 1871. Therefore, we are going to name it the 1871 Fire Trail. Check out the burned stumps here and there as you cruise through. #forbush #SkiMichigan
FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> Looks like a nice winter day to be outside. All trails are open and tracked. Some limited grooming today, getting to the point where more snow is needed on the trails in the woods. Open 9 to 5 today. Then closed 23, 24, and 25. We will then reopen on the 26th and stay open, 9 to 5, everyday through Jan 5th. Happy Holidays all! #forbush #SkiMichigan
Chandlee, They have a nice loop supported by snowmaking. Next week looks good if you want a day trip. Drive is 2 easy hours, 127 to 75. Facility is just off 75
FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> The Corner survived the rain and warmup, and it actually made our good trail base even better. An additional 4 inches of snow during the day yesterday didn’t hurt either. Albeit very windy and snowy weather, skiers were out and reporting that conditions were really good and not icy.
Full system groom today, including Pines Loop down into Hartwick Pines. Looks to be windy and a little snowy today, temperatures reaching the low 30’s. Open 9 to 5.
