Shanty Creek Snow Report – 12/22

After a very successful week of snowmaking, the pink and blue chairlift will be opening for the season this Saturday (12/24), opening up just over 70% of our skiable terrain!

Our snowmakers will now focus all their efforts on opening the red lift as soon as possible. The 16-24" of snow predicted to fall at the resort by Sunday is certainly a great start!

UPDATED DECEMBER 22

Schuss Mountain will be open today from 9am-4:30pm with 11 runs open on the yellow, purple, and magic carpet lifts will be spinning.

Please note, Kings Canyon will be opening late (around lunch) and Purple Daze is currently closed as our park crew works on a new setup in the terrain park. It will reopen tomorrow.

The pink and blue chairlifts will be opening for the season this Saturday, which opens up just over 70% of our skiable terrain at Schuss Mountain.

Sadly, our string of round-the-clock snowmaking ended today, as temperatures have warmed up to just above freezing. It won’t be for long, as temperatures are anticipated to cool right back off when the winter storm front blows in this evening. After finishing off the front of the mountain, all of our snowmaking efforts will now turn towards getting the red lift open for the season. The 16-24" of new snow by Christmas Day should be a big help! Stay tuned – we’re making our way to 100% open slowly but surely!
