Conditions were beautiful yesterday, and the snow today will make them even better!

We received one inch of snow overnight, and may receive up to 3 more inches throughout the day today! The trails took a hit from the sun yesterday, and we are choosing to let the snow accumulate and let the base refreeze today. We will not be grooming, but the trails are open. The Stone Turtle Cafe is open today! Try a Mediterranean Skier Bowl, with roasted root veggies, quinoa, pickled cucumbers and onions, roasted chick peas, and Halal sauce. Wash it down with a Keweenaw Pick Axe Blonde ale, and add chicken if you’re extra hungry!

Saturday, March 11th, 10:30am: FREE Beginner Ski Lesson
learn how to cross country ski at our FREE beginner ski lesson, every Saturday at 10:30am throughout the ski season (snow permitting)! You will learn the basics of traditional (classic style) XC ski technique, plus hill climbing, descending, and turning. You will even learn how to get up when you fall down! Free lessons are limited to 25 people. Ski rentals are available at the rental desk on a first-come, first-served basis (we do not take rental reservations). The free lesson lasts 1 hour.

Sunday, March 12th: Michigan Cup Relays
Join us for one of the most exciting ski races in Michigan! This grand finale race for the Michigan Cup Race Series features a relay race with 3 skiers per team: 2 legs freestyle, and 1 classic leg. Each skier skis approximately 4-6km per leg. You do not have to be a Michigan Cup racer to participate! IF you do not have a team but would still like to ski, we will try to find a team for you. Registration starts at 9:30am, and the race starts at 11:00am. The entry Fee is $20 per racer. All race entrees score Team Points. After the Relays, stick around for the Michigan Cup awards ceremony, and enjoy a hearty post-race meal, and live music included with your registration fee. Each racer receives a commemorative pint glass! Click here to register!
