Forbush Corner Cross Country Ski Report – 03/23

Grooming plans for the weekend: (spring trail fee is $10 and rentals are $15)

Closed Thursday.

Friday- we will only be grooming the snow making loop because it is going to be quite warm Friday afternoon. The shop will be closed.

Saturday- Forecast is calling for some accumulating snow, so we will be doing some limited grooming on the flatter more protected trails, as well as, the snowmaking loop. The shop will be open.

Sunday- Skiing should be quite good with the new snow, so we will groom as many trails as we can. The shop will be open

Monday- The shop will be open and we plan to groom.

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing
What a way to end the season today! The “loop” groomed up perfect this morning for skating and classic after some additional snow yesterday and below freezing temps overnight. The flags have been lowered and put away, hopefully to be raised in November to start the 23/24 Season. Stay tuned. We will update periodically on what’s happening at the Corner during the off season.

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing
Saturday April 8th- skiing was very good on the loop yesterday. We will be grooming up the 240 loop and Linda’s link today. There is still some really good crust cruising to be had as well. The pole barn warming area/bathroom will be available today.

Both Pisten Bully 100's out grooming the snowmaking loop and a few of the natural trails this morning. The majority of the base is still fully intact - good looping on the Green Trail for sure. Open 9 to 5 for some great spring skiing...

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing
Thursday March 30th- starting out the day with single digits, sun and lots of base to groom! Today we will be working on grooming up all the east side trails including the loop, ridge, rollercoaster, Cry Baby?, and badlands which will make for some great skiing with A skis for most of the day. We will be closed on Friday because the forecast for Friday/Friday night is calling for over an inch of rain and temperatures in the mid 40’s. It’s hard to say what Saturday morning is going to hold for grooming, but it’s probable that the base will be too soft and wet to groom except for the 240 snowmaking loop and Linda’s link. We may be able to groom up more trails on Sunday based on how the base sets up and how the base survives the rain on Friday. We do plan to be open this Saturday and Sunday with at least the snowmaking loop groomed.
