Marquette Mountain Snow Report – 01/02

Snow Report:

Snowmaking is in progress as temperatures allow. We have been making snow since Friday and have gained ground – the crew worked around the clock through the holiday weekend. We are on track to re-open on Saturday, January 6th, and hold our first scheduled race on January 9th, hosted by MSHS! Stay tuned for exact hours of operation as we get closer to Saturday.

We will be shutting the system down at noon today during the warm up to do filter maintenance in the pump house and other gun maintenance in preparation for the next cold temperatures. We plan to restart tonight as soon as temperatures allow.

Reminders:

– Mountaineer registration opens tomorrow. See our post this morning.

– Join us on Friday in the Tbar to appease the gods of Winter and banish El Nino.

As the snow melts and we officially close the lifts, we are feeling incredibly humbled and overwhelmingly grateful. From those deep, classic Lake Superior lake-effect powder days to the warm, slushy spring laps under bluebird skies, this season was one for the booksโ€”and itโ€™s all because of YOU.

Whether you were here for first chair every weekend, taking your very first lesson, or just hanging out at the Tbar swapping stories, your energy and stoke make this place magic. To the snowmakers who worked through the freezing nights to lay down the base, the groomers who laid down fresh corduroy, the ski patrol who kept us safe, the lift ops who kept us moving, the instructors who passed on the passion, and the base area staff who kept us fueled and warm, and taught new skiers about gearโ€”you are the unsung heroes of this mountain. Your hard work and dedication mean everything. ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽฟ
We might be packing away our skis and boards for now, but the memories from this winter are going to keep us going until the flakes start flying again.
