XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/17

Great tracks and skating lanes for your skiing pleasure today!

It’s another awesome winter day! Groomer Mike snow combed all the trails last night, and tracks were set Monday night. Conditions are great. There is approximately 12-18″ of snow in the woods, and about 8-12″ packed on the trails. The Stone Turtle Cafe is serving up lunch and drinks today – try a Bob’s Favorite Tuna panini with Great Lakes Potato Chips and a hot apple cider after skiing today!

Today’s forecast: “Cloudy. High 13F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph.”

A favorite XC Ski HQ tradition, Paella on the Sun Deck celebrates a world-renowned, Spanish rice dish, and offers skiers a hearty, flavorful (and entertaining!) feast. Prepared in a massive cast iron pan over an outdoor fire pit, this lunch comes from an authentic Spanish recipe from Paella master Ayo from Nerja, Spain, and is served piping hot with Saffron-spiced chicken, shrimp, mussels and peppers. Paella will be served at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
