The Highlands Snow Report – 03/15

Good Morning!

Welcome to our RING INTO SPRING weekend! Current AM weather is warm but the rain has moved on and it looks to be dry for most of the day! our grooming team has been working hard all night to make the conditions great! so don’t let it change your plans. Grab your spring attire, and get out here! Its also going to be a great day to watch some people get wet! Don’t miss the annual Slush Cup today! Registration is in the Day Lodge near the Brew Bar from 9 AM – 1:00 PM.

AMYS PARK TAKEOVER: Starts today! Our talented terrain team has transformed the whole Amy’s run Top to Bottom into a terrain park, this is something we have never done. 11 jibs, 3 snow features and 3 big jumps, this will be something to see and ride! The Amy’s takeover will be setup from today through the last of Sunday, March 23rd.

NASTAR RACING: Last race for the season is today 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM registration is at the start house.

A few reminders:
Ski School is open daily, with morning, and a full-day kids camp, private and group lessons.

The Adventure Center is available for extra fun, with zipline, sno-go, and our equestrian center.

The Nordic Center is open for Classic XC Skiing, and snowshoeing. They also have a free sledding hill. The last day will be today Saturday, March 15th.

Here is what you can expect today:
Lift Hours: 9 AM – 7:00 PM
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9am. High near 66. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch.

Lifts: ALL lifts are open. This includes Camelot 6 (the fastest lift in Michigan & it is heated!), Heather Express, Challenger, Interconnect (brand new 3-person chairlift providing a faster ascent to North Peak), Amy’s, North Face, Renate’s Express, Magic Carpet

Trails: 53 trails are open. Take a look at the trail status below for the full lineup.

Glade Skiing Runs:
Open: Please, as always, use caution in these natural snow areas. Low snow and some bare spots may show up.

Terrain Parks: We have 3 of our parks open, Amy’s, and Funland top to bottom and our Funcross Park. We built a small half-pipe, in Upper Fun-Land allowing beginners to ride down the middle and bank turns or for more advanced park riders to catch a little air!

March is Mitten Love month! Michigan skiers, this ones for YOU! Anyone with a valid season pass from ANY Michigan ski resort is invited to ride at The Highlands for just $25 from March 1 through March 23! $2 from every ticket supports Snow Angel Foundation Inc.

Dining: We offer a variety of dining and beverage options throughout the property. Don’t miss Champs Pizza in the Day Lodge. Explore our dining tab on the website or app or weekly happenings for all the options available both on-hill and off-hill.
