The Highlands Snow Report – 03/16

Last updated: Sunday 08:25 AM

Good Morning,

Winter isn’t over yet! After yesterday’s warm spring day, it’s back to winter today. We are under a winter weather advisory for up to 5 inches of fresh snow! Our grooming team has been working all night to prepare the snow surface for riding today.
We are entering our last week of operation, so get your turns in before we close for the season on Sunday, March 23rd.

NOTE: Today is your last day to ride our newest lift, Interconnect, as we will be closing the North Peak area after today for the season.

AMYS PARK TAKEOVER: Our talented terrain team transformed Amy’s run from top to bottom into a terrain park, this is something we have never done. We have 11 jibs, 3 snow features and 3 big jumps, this will be something to see and ride! The Amy’s takeover will be set up from today through Sunday, March 23rd.

A few reminders:
Snowsports school is open, with Private Lessons available daily through March 23rd.

The Adventure Center is available for extra fun, with zipline, sno-go, and our equestrian center.

The Nordic Center: CLOSED. Thanks for a great XC season.

Here is what you can expect today:
Lift Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
A chance of rain and snow before 8 AM, then snow, possibly mixed with sleet between 8 AM and 9 AM, then snow after 9 AM. The snow could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to around 28 degrees by 2 PM. It may be breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of around 4 to 5 inches.

Lifts Open: Camelot 6 (the fastest lift in Michigan & it is heated!), Heather Express, Challenger, Interconnect (brand new 3-person chairlift providing a faster ascent to North Peak), Amy’s, North Face, Renate’s Express.

Trails: 50 trails are open. Take a look at the trail status below for the full lineup.

Glade Skiing Runs:
Open: Please, as always, use caution in these natural snow areas. Low snow and some bare spots may show up.

Terrain Parks: Don’t miss Amy’s Takeover. We have 3 of our parks open, Amy’s, and Funland top to bottom and our Funcross Park. We built a small half-pipe, in Upper Fun-Land allowing beginners to ride down the middle and bank turns or for more advanced park riders to catch a little air!

March is Mitten Love month! Michigan skiers, this ones for YOU! Anyone with a valid season pass from ANY Michigan ski resort is invited to ride at The Highlands for just $25 from March 1 through March 23! $2 from every ticket supports Snow Angel Foundation Inc.

Dining: We offer a variety of dining and beverage options throughout the property. Don’t miss Champs Pizza in the Day Lodge. Explore our dining tab on the website or app or weekly happenings for all the options available both on-hill and off-hill.

You can check our full event schedule on our website for everything to look forward to.

A little extra bonus – all season passholders and Ikon receive up to 20% off lodging at the resort. If you are not a season passholder and lodge at our resort, you receive up to 20% off lift tickets.
