XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/31
Fresh skate lanes and a sunrise through the trees!
After more snow yesterday, the trails are looking good. Groomer Mike is out snowcombing the skate lanes, and the tracks set yesterday are holding up pretty well. Solid tracks in some areas, with a few washed out sections, but very skiable! We’re supposed to receive another inch or two today and the good conditions should just keep getting better!

Today: Snow in the morning through mid afternoon, High 21F. Winds 10-15mph
Tonight: Partly Snowy 1-2", low 9F. Winds 5-10mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny in the afternoon, High 14F. Winds at 10-15 mph.

Saturday, January 3rd: Free Beginner Ski Lesson
Learn how to cross country ski at our FREE beginner ski lesson! You will learn the basics of traditional (classic style) XC ski technique, plus hill climbing, descending, and turning. You will even learn how to get up when you fall down! Free lessons are limited to 25 people. Ski rentals are available at the rental desk on a first-come, first-served basis (we do not take rental reservations). The free lesson lasts 1 hour.
Saturday, Jan 3 & Sunday, Jan 4th: Ski Clinics with Jordyn Ross
Northern Michigan University Nordic Team Alum and top Michigan Cup racer, Jordyn Ross, is back for another outstanding clinic series. The Saturday clinics for beginner skate and intermediate skate and classic are full, but there is room in Sunday’s advanced-intermediate and expert skate and classic clinics. Cost for a clinic is $20. Please sign up in advance by clicking here (space is limited), or call 800-832-2663. *Snow permitting.
