The Highlands Snow Report – 01/05

Last updated: Monday 07:25 AM

CONDITIONS UPDATE: January 5th 2026

Good Morning from The Highlands Team!

Today’s Blog
POWDER DAY!! Local schools are closed and we were blessed with 5+ inches of new snow last night. The system is passing and it’s going to be a great day to ride. The Petoskey/Harbor Springs Ski meet was officially cancelled, but some of the schools will be having a scrimmage on North and South Challenger so those two slopes will be CLOSED today. There are still hundreds of acres to get in your powder runs today, so get up and get out here! Roads are snow covered and slippery so drive slow and be safe. Parking lots and walkways will likely be slippery, so walk cautiously and be patient.

RACE EVENTS
HARBOR SPRINGS/PETOSKEY INVITATIONAL SCRIMMAGE 11 AM START. NORTH AND SOUTH CHALLENGER CLOSED.

SNOWMAKING-GROOMING UPDATE
Our snowmaking and grooming team have been working 24/7 to provide you the best conditions each day. Today we will open The Coulior and Camelot Bowl.
