XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/19

Spring Skiing Conditions!

The trails are open today, but we will not be grooming. I went out on Trappers Cabin today and it is very skiable! We still have a very thick base and though some spots are a little glazed over and the tracks are pretty washed out, the skiing was lovely! Tall Pines has a fair amount of debris and some of the downhills might be a little slick on Rolling Hills, but with a good snowplow technique, very manageable! Things will be more firm this morning, and then will soften up with the sun in the afternoon. Trails will most likely be closed tomorrow (Friday) due to precipitation in the morning, but that will transition into snow by tomorrow evening and then we are forecast to get snow Saturday and Sunday, so we should have decent skiing this weekend!

Weather Forecast

Today: Mostly cloudy in the morning, giving way to some sunshine this afternoon. High 43F, gusting winds 5 – 10 mph.

Tonight: Foggy and drizzly. Low 35F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Rainy in the morning, transitioning to snow in the afternoon High 37F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.
