Boyne Mountain Snow Report – 03/13

Last updated: Friday 09:12 AM

Please be advised that due to high winds, we are open with limited operations.

The following lifts will be open for the start of the day:

Boyneland
Estelle’s Way
Disciples 8
Alpine

All other lifts and terrain are currently on a wind hold.

Our teams are monitoring wind speeds closely and will open additional terrain as soon as it is safe to do so.

Gooooood morning Boyne Mountain! It’s Kyler, with today’s snow report.

Lots of wintry weather ahead! And it’s already coming down like crazy. Let’s get into it.

Today: Snow and blowing snow are moving across northern Michigan with bursts of heavy snow falling at 1-2" per hour combined with wind gusts of 30-45+ mph. This will likely lead to whiteouts at times, especially this morning. Snow tapers this evening into tonight. We are expecting 6-8 inches from this first round.

If you’re heading to the mountain today, be prepared for rapidly changing conditions and reduced visibility. Give yourself extra time and watch for blowing and drifting snow.

Late Season Winter Storm: Saturday Night Through Monday

Here’s where it gets really interesting. A late season winter storm has its sights set on the Great Lakes region.

There is an increasing potential for us to see 12-24"+ of snow. Uncertainty still exists with regards to specific amounts and the location of where these highest amounts fall. A brief break in wintry weather is anticipated Saturday, then the main event moves in Saturday night through Monday.

Stay tunedlots more info to come over the next 48 hours. I’m watching this closely.

With Big Mountain Energy,
Kyler
