Boyne Mountain Snow Report – 03/16

Last updated: Monday 10:23 AM

Helloooooo Boyne Mountain! It’s Kyler, with a mountain report update.

Operations Update

POWDER FOR THE PEOPLE!! 18" of snow piled on the resort in the last 24 hours making this the deepest powder day of the season! And the snow is still coming down.

With deep snow comes operational challenges. The team is removing snow, prepping lifts as fast as they can. Boyneland and D8 are currently spinning. Check back here for updates.

Periods of snow this morning, then slowing up with a potential transition to a wintry mix for the afternoon. High near 30° with winds E at 15 to 25 mph, gusting higher.

Here’s the deal: we could see 12+" inches of snow by 2pm today. This system continues through Tuesday morning, and we’re positioned right in the zone for 4"+ total when all is said and done.

Winds will gust between 40-60 mph both today and Monday. This means blowing and drifting snow, reduced visibility, and potentially some scattered power outages.

Stay tuned here for operations updates at the storm moves through.

With Big Mountain Energy,
Kyler

Ski Michigan

FROM Boyne Mountain Resort >> Some faces belong to a mountain. Anyone who's ever loaded Mountain Express knows exactly the face we mean.
Duane was more than a lift operator; he was a greeter, a candy man, a Legend with a capital L. The kind of person who made a chairlift ride feel like the best part of your day. If you were lucky, you'd settle into your seat and feel something land in your hood. A little piece of candy, and a whole lot of joy.
He did that for everyone. He didn't care if you were on your first run or your thousandth.
That's what made Duane so special. He was a constant reminder that mountains are shared places. We all come here chasing the same thing. Deep snow, first tracks, and a feeling that's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't felt it. Duane got that better than most.
Opening day is going to feel a little different this year. But we carry him with us in every bluebird morning, every act of kindness passed to a stranger on the lift, and every kid who gets their first taste of winter magic.
Rest in Powder, Duane ❤️❄️ #boynemountain #SkiMichigan
