XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/12

Burr. At 7am this morning the temperature was -2 F. We have received a little over an inch of fresh fluffy snow since yesterday that will help Ginzu Dana snowcomb the skating lanes to perfection. The tracks are well set and he will be resetting the tracks that need it. Conditions are excellent for classic and skate skiing.

Forecast:

Today: Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 6F. Winds NNW at 15 to 25 mph.

Friday: Cloudy skies with afternoon snow showers. High 19F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Friday night: Cloudy with some light snow. Low around 5F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snowfall around one inch.

Saturday: Windy with snow showers in the morning. High 7F. Winds NNW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 50%.

Snow Depth in Woods: 9 to 14

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 4 to 8

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: all trails have freshly groomed snow.

As a part of Roscommon’s Winterfest, this Friday night from 6 to 8pm the Trappers Cabin trail will be lit by torches, with complimentary hot cocoa at the cabin, plus howling at the moon!

Today’s lunch special is Sourdough Bread Bowl Spicy and Veggie Chili. Also on today’s menu as are an assortment of panini sandwiches made to order.
