XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/13

As of 7 am this morning it was 29F. The warm up of the last 4 days has taken a toll on the trails. Even though there is still a lot of frost in the ground, there are a number of spots on some of the trails that receive enough direct sunlight to melt the snow. Thus the Tall Pines trail is closed. The Mackinaw Cut, Wild Turkey, Adventure, Manitou and Blizzard trials are passable but skiers will need to ski around some bare spots. The Trapper’s Cabin and Rolling Hills Trails are in the best shape. Groomer Stu will groom up all the trails this morning except the Tall Pines trail. We have 0 to 10 inches of snow in the woods and 0 to 8 inches of snow packed on the trails.

Photo: This Jr racer can hardly wait for the 22nd Annual Jr Muffin Races to be held this Sunday! Registration starts at 9am. The various races are open to all kids, very young through High School.
