XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/16

As of 6:30am the temperature is 34 degrees. Thanks to our snow doctors and groomer, the 8km Muffin Race course was completely snow covered yesterday and racers ranging from 2 years old through high school all had a really good time. The course, which utilizes parts of the Trapper’s cabin, Adventure and Rolling Hills trails, is still skiable, as is most of the rest of Rolling Hills, parts of Trappers Cabin, Mackinaw Cut, and Wild Turkey. The Blizzard Trail still has enough snow to get around, and the Ski Park still has over 10 inches of base from where we made snow early in the season, giving skiers plenty of snow for equipment demos and lessons. The Manitou, Tall Pines and Adventure trails have too many bare spots to be groomed and are recommend not to be skied on. Due to the warm temps all night, we will not be grooming today.

Today: Cloudy with occasional showers this afternoon. High around 60F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
