XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/12
As of 6:45am this morning, it is 14F and lightly snowing. We had great success resetting tracks on all the trails yesterday, so that they are now firm and deep. Groomer Henry will Ginzu snow comb all 8 trails early this morning. We have a 9 to 13 inch base and there is 12 to 16 inches of snow in the woods, and conditions are excellent!
Forecast:
Today: Variably cloudy with snow showers. High 16F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
Tonight: Snow showers. Low -6F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%.
Saturday: Cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 8F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight is Winter Fest Night Skiing! Join us from 6:00 – 8:00pm for torch lit skiing along the Trapper’s Cabin trail, plus a bonfire at the cabin with free hot cocoa. Purchase your Winter Fest badge at the front desk for just $5, and enjoy lots of Roscommon/Higgins Lake festivities this weekend. Skiers who need to rent skis must do so before 7:00pm.
Today’s lunch special is the Gourmet Grilled Cheese! Swiss, provolone, sliced tomato, and pesto, grilled to perfection on Stone House Sourdough bread. It’s as good as it sounds.
Enjoy the snow today!
– Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Gage, Grant, Lexi, Michele, Michelle, Matt B., Carl, and the crew
