XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/13
As of 6:45 am we have received a heavy dusting of snow overnight. Groomer Henry will begin snow-combing the skate lanes on all 8 trails at day-break. Classic tracks are very firm and in good condition, and skate lanes are wide and smooth. Despite the cold temps, it will be a beautiful day of skiing with light winds and snow in the trees. We have a 9 to 13 inch base and there is 12 to 16 inches of snow in the woods.
Forecast:
Today: Cloudy with snow showers mainly during the morning. High 9F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%.
Tonight: Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy after midnight. Low -2F. Winds light and variable.
Sunday: Partly to mostly cloudy. High 19F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Stone Turtle Cafe Special: Build your own gourmet Chili Lunch! Start with our famous Classic Chili or Veggie Chili. Then head to the Chili Bar and add such toppings as fresh jalapenos, fresh poblano peppers, white onion, red onion, sharp cheddar cheese, feta cheese, sour cream, or strange but delicious favorites like cucumber yogurt or black olives. Have your chili in a bread bowl, or help yourself to some fresh baked cornbread and real butter! You might never be the same!
Good luck to all participants at the North American Vasa in Traverse City today!
– Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Gage, Grant, Lexi, Michele, Michelle, Matt B., Carl, and the crew
