XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/23

Grooming is our speciality!

As of 6:45 this morning we have received a heavy dusting of new snow. Classic tracks remain firm and in great shape since setting on Sunday evening. Groomer Henry ginzu-snowcombed all the skate lanes yesterday evening, and this new snow was just what he needed to add a little bit of “user-friendliness” to what was yesterday’s faster trail conditions. We have a 6 to 10 inch base, and there is 7 to 14 inches of snow in the woods. The skiing conditions will be fabulous today!

Forecast:

Today: Overcast. High 38F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies this evening will become partly cloudy after midnight. Low 24F. Winds light and variable.

Wednesday: Becoming windy with snow likely in the afternoon. High 36F. Winds NE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 70%. About one inch of snow expected.

Back by popular demand, today’s lunch special is the Turkey Reuben! Oven roasted turkey, provolone cheese, sour kraut, sliced tomatoes, and thousand island dressing, grilled to sizzling perfection on Stone House Sourdough bread! Served as always with Great Lakes potato chips and a pickle.

It’s another fine day to be outside gliding through winter!

– Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Grant, Shania, Kevin, Henry, Dana and the crew
