XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/24

Sunset on the Rolling Hills trail was a beautiful sight!

The skating conditions were great yesterday morning and became soft in the afternoon, and the classic tracks remain firm and in good shape. Groomer Matt will Ginzu snow comb the skating lanes this morning on all 8 trails. We have a 6 to 10 inch base, and there is 7 to 14 inches of snow in the woods. Skating and classic will both be great today, and the trails are ready for many inches of snow we are forecast to receive today and tonight!

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy with periods of snow late. High 32F. Winds NE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Tonight: Snow along with gusty winds at times. Low around 25F. Winds N at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 100%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Thursday: Cloudy with snow showers mainly during the morning. High 27F. Winds NNW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Today’s lunch special is the REAL Reuben, because we just had to. Corned beef, swiss cheese, sour kraut and thousand island dressing, piled onto marbled rye bread and grilled like a boss. You won’t even notice the Great Lakes potato chips and pickle because the sandwich is so good. Or, if you ate too much at dinner last night, try the Mediterranean Salad, with spinach, feta, hummus, kalamata olives, red onions, bell peppers, banana peppers, and vinaigrette dressing.

Calling all junior skiers: the Muffin Race is this Sunday, February 28th! We will have races for High Schoolers on down to toddlers, plus a pulled pork barbecue and festive atmosphere. Join us!

Prepare for snow!

– Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Grant, Shania, Kevin, Henry, Dana and the crew
