Yesterday’s mild temps, blue skies and ideal trail conditions brought out many happy skiers – many of which we will see today for the Michigan Cup Relays! As of 7am this morning it was 10F, but should again come up to low 30’s by mid-day. Last night Groomer Bob snow combed all the skate lanes when the snow temperature was perfect for setting perfect corduroy. Groomer Bob will be out there again this morning at dawn to ginzu snow comb all the trails again just to chop up the refrozen corduroy a bit to make for stable but still firm skating. The classic tracks on all trails are in good condition, with some of the tight turns slightly widened.

The Manitou, Trappers Cabin and Rolling Hills trails will be closed from 11 to 12:30 for the Michigan Cup Relays Race – which all are invited to join! Teams of three skiers are needed for registration. From 11 to 12:30, non-racers will be asked to ski on Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Adventure, Tall Pines and Blizzard Trails. After 12:30, all trails will be open.

Today’s lunch special will be Pulled Pork Sandwiches, slow roasted to perfection with Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce, with a side of home-made coleslaw and a pickle. The Sun Deck will be full of skiers today celebrating another great season of Michigan Cup racing!
