XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/07

Congratulations to the Vasa Ski Club, 2016 Michigan Cup AND Brumbaugh Cup Champions!

The snow held up beautifully through the weekend, and we had some of the best conditions ever for the Michigan Cup Relay Races yesterday. Groomer Henry will Ginzu snow comb all the skating lanes early this morning. The tracks are solid and overall pretty good, but glazed in some spots where the sun has had a lot of exposure. All 8 trails are open, and we have a 7 to 11 inch base, and 11 to 21 inches of snow in the woods.

Forecast:

Today: Mostly cloudy skies. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 52F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Overcast with rain showers at times. Low 39F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.

Tuesday: Rain showers in the morning becoming more intermittent in the afternoon. Thunder possible. High 56F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Today’s lunch special is our famous pulled pork barbecue sandwich! Served on a toasted ciabatta roll and served with chips and coleslaw. Enjoy it out on the sun deck with todays temps.
The upcoming warm weather means it’s a great time to shop! Our March Madness Sale is in full swing, with 40% off all closeout insulated jackets, vests, soft shell jackets, and more, plus 20-40% off select XC ski pants.

Thank you to everyone who came out to participate in the Michigan Cup Relays! The snow was the best ever, with fast conditions and a fun course. Congratulations to the Vasa Ski Club, who brought an army of skiers to help win the 2016 Michigan Cup AND Brumbaugh Cup! What a fun day indeed.

-Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Grant, Shania, Henry and the crew
