XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/08

Good form at the Michigan Cup Relays exchange zone by Chris and Fran, members of the silver medal winning “2 Blondes and a Brunette” team.

What a beautiful blue sky day yesterday! The skiing was good in the morning through the early afternoon then the warm air softened up the snow pack and the conditions became very much like soft snow spring skiing. That is how it will be today. We have lost some snow in the sunny areas so there are bare spots on the Manitou, Tall Pines and Adventure trails. Grooming this warm snow would be counter productive, but skiing early in the day would be plenty of fun! Spring conditions prevail.

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy this morning with possible showers during the afternoon. High 57F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%

Wednesday: Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. High 54F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%

Thursday: Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. High 54F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%

Today’s lunch special is our famous pulled pork barbecue sandwich! Served on a toasted ciabatta roll and served with chips and coleslaw. Of course our Famous Spicy Chili will also be served along with various delicious paninis.
The warm weather means it’s a great time to shop! Our March Madness Sale is in full swing, with 40% off all closeout insulated jackets, vests, soft shell jackets, and more, plus 20-40% off most XC ski pants, tops and jackets. Plus great deals on racing skis, boots, poles and XC Ski packages!

Try a snowshoe hike in these warm conditions, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Grant, Shania, Henry and the crew
