XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/09

Our snow base on the trails has held up surprisingly well despite these warmer temps. As of yesterday evening, all trails except Tall Pines still had a fine snow base with only minor bare spots. We had very happy skiers yesterday enjoying the warm weather out on the trails, and soaking up as much skiing as winter will allow. As of 7am this morning it was raining, and forecasted to continue until 10am. Spring skiing conditions prevail! Bare spots will be popping up, so feel free to borrow ‘rock skis’ from us if needed. We will not be grooming today as it would be counterproductive in these warmer temps.

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy with occasional rain…mainly in the morning. High around 55F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.

Tonight: Cloudy skies during the evening with areas of fog developing after midnight. Slight chance of a rain shower. Low 37F. Winds light and variable.

Thursday: Cloudy. High 46F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s lunch special – while supplies last! – is our famous pulled pork barbecue sandwich! Served on a toasted ciabatta roll and served with chips and coleslaw. Of course our Famous Spicy Chili will also be served along with various delicious paninis.
The warm weather means it’s a great time to shop! Our March Madness Sale is in full swing, with 40% off all closeout insulated jackets, vests, soft shell jackets, and more, plus 20-40% off most XC ski pants, tops and jackets. Plus great deals on racing skis, boots, poles and XC Ski packages!

Try a snowshoe hike in these warm conditions, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Lynne, Bob, Mariah, Stu, Fran, Brian, Erin, Matt V., Ryan, Lexi, Gage, Matt B., Grant, Shania, Henry and the crew
