XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/18

Trapper Santa stopped by Trapper’s Cabin to roast chestnuts with skiers yesterday!

We had another awesome day of skiing yesterday. We received about another 1 to 2 inches of snow in the afternoon, which added to the excellent conditions. Ginzu Dana will start grooming early this morning, snow combing skating lanes and resetting tracks where needed. We have a 6 to 8 inch packed base, and 12 to 15 inches of snow in the woods. With more snow coming, and temps in the upper 20’s during the day, this week leading up to Christmas looks like it will be one of the best weeks of skiing in recent memory!

Forecast:

Today: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around this morning. High 13F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40%.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies. Low near 0F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy. High 19F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special is the Gourmet Grilled Cheese panini! Swiss, provolone, basil pesto and tomato, grilled and between two slices of Stone House Sour Dough Bread. Served with kettle cooked potato chips and a pickle! The Chipotle Veggie Chili is a delightfully spicy accompaniment, if you’re so inclined.

The Christmas Sale is here! Get your last minute Christmas presents on sale now, including winter jackets, boots, and clothing, plus XC ski clothing and cross country ski packages. Don’t forget our huge selection of gloves, mittens, hats and socks! Free equipment demos all day every day.

See you out there!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Fran, Erin, Ryan, Matt, Michelle, Brian, George, Lexi, Dana, Henry and the crew
