XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/24
Beautiful morning at the trail head yesterday!
We received about 2 inches of fresh snow overnight. The temperature as of 6:30am is 32F, which is a little warm to groom. We will try, however, to snow comb the skating lanes and set new tracks, but if the snow turns to slush we will not continue to groom until temps cool. We have a 6 to 8 inch packed base, and 14 to 18 inches of snow in the woods. Please note that the shop is open until 3:00pm today. We are closed all day on Christmas day, but the trails are open and skiing is “on the house” tomorrow (there will also not be a ski report tomorrow morning – we’re sleeping in!). Forecast:
Today: Cloudy skies. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Cloudy skies this evening will become partly cloudy after midnight. Low 21F. Winds light and variable.
Saturday: Cloudy skies. High around 30F. Winds E at 10 to 20 mph.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special is our famous house-made Chili (classic and vegetarian) and Bosco Sticks! As always, we will also be offering our normal selection of grilled paninis on Stone House bread, served with kettle cooked potato chips and a pickle!
