XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/07
Trappers Cabin is a great place to sit by the bonfire and take a cocoa break!
The trails groomed up great yesterday again, with Ginzu snowcombed skating lanes that were ideal for good speed in these cooler conditions. Ginzu Dana had great success resetting tracks, and they are so firm that they will not need to be reset this morning. Groomer George will begin snow combing the skating lanes around 8:30am this morning, once it warms up a little. We have a 7 to 9 inch packed base and 12 to 15 inches in the woods. Conditions for skating and classic are excellent.
Forecast:
Today: Flurries and a few snow showers throughout the day. High 12F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 30%.
Tonight: Snow this evening will give way to lingering snow showers late. Low 6F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Sunday: Cloudy. High 17F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
