The Stone Turtle Day Lodge always has smiling faces.

Greetings from Higgins Lake! Another great day for skiing is in store for us today. As of 6:45am we have received three inches of overnight accumulation with just the right moisture and density for Ginzu Dana, who is already out on the trails, to set deep classic tracks and wide picture-perfect corduroy skating lanes. It is a great day to be skiing in northern Michigan! We now have a 9 to 11 inch packed base and 14 to 17 inches of snow in the woods.

Forecast:

Today: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around this morning. High 17F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 40%.

Tonight: Cloudy. Snow showers developing late. Low 11F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Tomorrow: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around in the morning. High 27F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40%.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special today is Get your Fill at the Grill – Fire on the Mountain! This longtime favorite lunch special allows you to pick your choice of a fresh beef/pork patty, salmon burger, or delicious black bean veggie burger, and have it grilled to perfection on open flame! Add your choice of an abundance of toppings, plus Great Lakes Potato Chips and a pickle. If you dare, order your burger to be cooked “Fire on the Mountain” style, with jalepenos and our house made spicy buffalo bleu cheese sauce!
