It’s hard not to smile when you’re XC skiing!

Believe it or not, yesterday was actually a fine day of skiing! The snowpack is holding up amazingly well, and conditions were quite enjoyable, especially for skating. As the temps continue to hover around freezing, we will refrain from grooming in order to preserve the snow. Skiing earlier in the day is advisable. Skate skiing is very good, as is classic skiing with metal edged skis. Regular classic skis are working moderately well on this somewhat glazed surface that we have, too. In an effort to preserve the snowpack that we have, we will not be grooming today.

Forecast:

Today: Areas of dense morning fog. Mostly cloudy skies. High 39F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 27F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High near 40F. Winds light and variable.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special is Bpb’s Favorite Tuna Panini! Flaked Albacore tuna, jalepenos, black olives, banana peppers, provolone, spinach and red onion, grilled and served hot on ciabatta bread. Served with Great Lakes Potato Chips and a dill pickle spear!
Metal edged skis are available for demos and rentals today, and make for really fun skiing in these warmer conditions. Don’t forget that we have many great sales on both ski equipment and softgoods. Stop in or call to start shopping!
