XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/22
The Sassy Skier Sisters came for yoga and XC skiing at yesterday’s Stretch and Slide event!
Despite the warm temps, the trails did not really soften up that much until late yesterday afternoon. As a result, many enjoyed surprisingly firm snow for both classic and skating throughout the day. We continue to be amazed at how well the snow is holding up. We will not groom this morning because of above-freezing temps last night. Regardless of the weather, Chef Erin will be making her famous Paella on the sundeck today!
Forecast:
Today: Cloudy skies with some morning fog. High 42F. Winds light and variable.
Tonight: Cloudy with occasional showers. Areas of dense fog. Low near 35F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.
Tomorrow: Overcast with rain showers at times. Temps nearly steady in the mid to upper 30s. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 60%.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe lunch special is Paella on the Sun Deck! Join us as we celebrate the world-renowned and absolutely delicious rice dish that originates in Spain, and offers skiers a hearty, flavorful feast. Bob and Lynne learned the method from Paella chef master Ayo while visiting Nerja, Spain, and are excited to serve this traditional dish to hungry skiers at XC Ski HQ. Prepared in a massive cast iron pan over an outdoor fire pit, this lunch is almost as enjoyable to watch being cooked as it is to eat! Served piping hot with Saffron-spiced chicken, shrimp and vegetables, this dish will be presented in two seatings: 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Buen Provecho!
Metal edged skis and skin skis are available for demos and rentals today, and make for really fun skiing in these warmer conditions. Don’t forget that we have many great sales on both ski equipment and softgoods. Stop in or call to start shopping!
