Cheryl B. was pretty stoked on the trails yesterday: “So happy winter is back and such great conditions today at XC Ski HQ!”

We received another 3 to 4 inches of snow throughout the day yesterday and last night. Groomer George made a second pass with the snow comb on all of the trails yesterday afternoon to help manage the accumulation. Ginzu Dana has been out since early this morning resetting tracks and snow combing the skating lanes. It is truly winter wonderland here in the great north woods, and conditions are excellent for both skating and classic!

Forecast:

Today: Variable clouds with snow showers. High 24F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. Low 6F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: A mix of clouds and sun in the morning followed by cloudy skies during the afternoon. High 24F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe lunch special is Get Your Fill at the Grill, Saturday and Sunday from Noon until 3:00pm! Grill Cook Gage Gabalis will make a special appearance on the Stone Turtle Day Lodge Sun Deck to Fire Grill your choice of Salmon Burgers, Lean Beef Burgers or Black Bean Veggie Burgers, all available in the famously spicy Fire on the Mountain style.

We will also have lessons available today from Jim Bradley for skating and classic skiing. The January Sale continues with great specials on cross country skis, clothing and accessories.
