XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/30
Lunch by the fire in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge is the perfect way to cap off a day on the snow!
It was a fantastic weekend of skiing in Pure Michigan, with lots of snowfall and many people outdoors enjoying the winter weather. We received another 2+ inches of snow throughout the day yesterday, which Ginzu Dana continuously groomed throughout the day. He will set out again early this morning to reset tracks and snow comb the skating lanes. We have a 10 to 12 inch base, with 18 to 22 inches of snow in the woods. Conditions are fabulous for both skating and classic!
Forecast:
Today: More clouds than sun. High 23F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around this evening. Low 17F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%.
Tomorrow: Variable clouds with snow showers. High around 30F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
We have lots of fun on tap for this week! Join us Wednesday night for the Women’s Ski Tour from 5:30 to 7:00pm. Then join us Saturday for Ski the Beer Trail, when Paddle Hard Brewing from Grayling will set up beer tasting stations along the ski trails! The Beer Trail is open from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, Feb 4th. Tickets are $35, which include your facilities pass, 4 beet tasting tokens, and a delicious BBQ lunch with German Dave at Trapper’s Cabin. Tickets are limited, and sold on a first come, first served basis starting at 9:00am on Saturday. Additional beer tokens available for purchase.
We also have lessons available today from Jim Bradley for skating and classic skiing. The January Sale continues with great specials on cross country skis, clothing and accessories.
