XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/01

Yesterday was a perfect day for this first time cross country skier!

We received a couple more inches of snow throughout the day yesterday, as well as another dusting last night, which continues to add to the excellent snow base we have on all 8 trails. Groomer George will set out early this morning, resetting tracks where needed and Ginzu snow combing the skating lanes. We have a 10 to 12 inch base, with 18 to 22 inches of snow in the woods. Wonderful conditions for both skating and classic in this Pure Michigan winter wonderland!

Forecast:

Today: Flurries and a few snow showers throughout the day. High 28F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 30%.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. Low 11F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow: Cloudy skies. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 16F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph.

We have lots of fun on tap for this week! Join us tonight for the Women’s Ski Tour from 5:30 to 7:00pm. Then join us Saturday for Ski the Beer Trail, when Paddle Hard Brewing from Grayling will set up beer tasting stations along the ski trails! The Beer Trail Package includes a full day facilities pass and barbecue lunch at Trapper’s Cabin for $35. The beer tasting is complimentary to all skiers and snowshoers over the age of 21. Ski and snowshoe rentals are available for a nominal fee on a first come, first served basis, and free mini ski lessons are available upon request. Tickets are limited, and sold on a first come, first served basis starting at 9:00am on Saturday.

Enjoy this beautiful snow!
