Vasa Trail Cross Country Ski Report – 02/14

11 AM – It didn’t get below freezing last night so there was no groom this morning. The trail is still good for skiing but some parts are better than others.

The entire trail is pretty fast but closer to the trail head here are some icy spots and ski ruts…these spots are isolated. Further out it gets better and Special K was amazingly fast and smooth; due to a lack of traffic no doubt.

Anyway, there is still plenty of base and snow in the woods at this point. The forecast looks interesting so I’ll ask any and all of you to please share your reports here over the next week or so. Many people who have to drive a long distance to enjoy the Vasa can make better decisions about making the trip if they are better informed.

My thoughts (hopes?) based on today’s trail and the forecast is that we should be good through midday on Saturday and and if it gets sunny and into the 50’s as predicted that day, it could become precarious. Anyway, all your input is appreciated as we carry on. Enjoy it while we can!
