XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/16

Good luck to Joe Kaczynski, who is soon heading to compete at the Special Olympics in Austria!

We received just shy of another inch of snow throughout yesterday and last night, which will help to cover the bits of debris that have fallen from the trees in the wind the last few days. Ginzu Dana will begin snow combing the skating lanes at dawn. We attempted to reset tracks yesterday, but they were too frozen to make any improvements on them. We should be able to reset tracks tomorrow when the temps warm up a bit, and intend to have great late-winter skiing conditions this weekend. We have a 10 to 12 inch base, with 16 to 20 inches of snow in the woods.

Forecast:

Today: Sunshine and clouds mixed. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 27F. Winds light and variable.

Tonight: Cloudy early with some clearing expected late. Low 19F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. High 44F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe Lunch Special is the Stone Turtle Monster Club Sandwich. Oven roasted turkey, smoked ham, provolone, swiss, tomato, onion, spinach, mayo and mustard, grilled and served on Stone House 7-Grain Bread. Served with Great Lakes Chips and a pickle spear. Just $10 for this monster of a lunch!
Join us Friday night for Winter Fest Full Moon Night Skiing! Just $5 gets to the Winter Fest badge, which grants access to Full Moon Night Skiing from 6pm to 8pm, plus many other fun local events throughout the weekend.
