XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/18

We are proud to say that last evening’s WinterFest night skiing saw record participation. The Milky Way was out and mild temps made for many happy skiers. Last night Groomer Stu reset tracks on Rolling Hills, Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, and Trappers Cabin Trails. With the exception of Trappers Cabin Trail, the new tracks turned out very well and had all evening to set and firm up. Existing tracks on Manitou are still in good condition. Groomer George will ginzu snow comb the skate lanes on all the trails early this morning, dicing up the snowpack to give the skaters a nice edge. With the warmer temps and sunshine today, it will be a Spring-like day for skiing, so bring your sunglasses! We have an 7 to 11 inch base, with 14 to 16 inches of snow in the woods.

Forecast:

Today: A mix of clouds and sun. High 49F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: A few passing clouds. Low 31F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 46F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe Lunch Special is Gourmet Chili Bar. Build your own gourmet Chili Lunch! Start with our famous Classic Chili or Veggie Chili. Then head to the Chili Bar and add such toppings as fresh jalapenos, fresh poblano peppers, white onion, red onion, sharp cheddar cheese, feta cheese, sour cream, or strange but delicious favorites like cucumber yogurt or black olives.
