XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 02/19

The Sun Deck was the place to be yesterday afternoon!

It was a fun, sunny day yesterday, with many skiers enjoying the warmer temps on the trails and on the sun deck. The trails are holding up well, and since it got below freezing last night, Ginzu Dana will be able to work his magic to snow comb the skating lanes and reset tracks where possible. Tractor Bob was out with the pre-seeder yesterday to grind up the hard pack at the trail head and on the entire Trapper’s Cabin trail, and it worked marvelously to turn the ice into nice, skiable snow! We have an 7 to 11 inch base, with 14 to 16 inches of snow in the woods.

Forecast:

Today: Partly cloudy. High 47F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: A few clouds. Low 28F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. High 48F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Cafe Lunch Special is Gourmet Chili Bar! Start with our famous Classic Chili or Veggie Chili. Then head to the Chili Bar and add such toppings as fresh jalapenos, fresh poblano peppers, white onion, red onion, sharp cheddar cheese, feta cheese, sour cream, or strange but delicious favorites like cucumber yogurt or black olives. Have your chili in a bread bowl, or help yourself to some fresh baked cornbread and real butter!

Check out our Presidents Day Sale! 30-50% off winter jackets from Columbia, North Face, Under Armour, and Rab, plus other big discounts on both hard goods and soft goods. Today would be a great day to demo some skin skis!

The trails are beautiful!
