XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/01

The snow just up the road at Forbush Corner was still mighty good this past Sunday… not a bad sunset, either!

We are holding onto the snow as best we can with the wet weather. Fortunately, we are supposed to start receiving snow around noon today, and are forecast to receive up to 6 inches based on the Winter Weather Advisory in our area. It will also get cold following today’s snow, which will help refreeze some of the wetness on the trails. Since it is supposed to be damp this morning leading up to the snow, we ask that you only ski on the Blizzard trail and practice area today. Despite a few bare spots, there are still some great stretches of snow, and skiing is always better than not skiing!

Forecast:

Today: Rain and snow this morning, becoming all snow for the afternoon. Morning high of 38F with temps falling to near 25. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precip 100%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Tonight: Light snow this evening will yield to a mostly cloudy sky late. Low 13F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Tomorrow: Cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 28F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow night: Scattered flurries and snow showers. Low near 10F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 40%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
