XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 03/06
Snow Mountain!
Yesterday was another great day of skiing, especially in the morning before the sun got too warm. Most of the trails are still in great condition, except for a bare patch on the Manitou trail, and a thin spot or two on the Tall Pines trail. Overall the trails remain in very good to great shape, and we expect to hold on to most of the snow through the week. Plus, we made enough snow last Friday and Friday night to stockpile a 13 foot tall snow mountain for this coming weekend’s Michigan Cup Relays, and cold temps will return later this week! Please note that if trails get too wet today and tomorrow, we will have to close the trails to preserve the hard pack.
Forecast:
Today: Cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 49F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Rain showers early then thundershowers overnight. Low 47F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%.
Tomorrow: Some clouds in the morning will give way to mainly sunny skies for the afternoon. High 52F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
