After another full day of spreading snow and packing it down, we now have fair conditions for classic and skating on two trails: a flat loop that includes part of Trappers Cabin and Adventure, and the hillier Michigan Cup Loop, which includes part of Trapper’s Cabin, Adventure, and Rolling Hills. We are not able to set classic tracks due to the hardpack. There are minimal icy spots and no bare spots on these loops, but there is some bumpy terrain towards the end of the Rolling Hills Trail. These two loops are closed to the public until 1:00pm today due to the Michigan Cup Relays.

Forecast:

Today: Overcast. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 26F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy with snow showers developing after midnight. Low 14F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snowfall around one inch.

Tomorrow: Snow during the morning will transition to snow showers during the afternoon. High 27F. Winds E at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Today is the Michigan Cup Relays! Registration opens at 9:30am. Race time is 11:00am. Each team consists of 3 legs (1 classic, 2 freestyle), 4-5km per leg. If you don’t have a team, don’t worry! We’ll find one for you. Entry fee is $20 per person ($60 per team) and includes a BBQ lunch, commemorative pint glass, and awards ceremony afterwards.
