Let it snow! Schuss Mountain has received 16-18” of new snow since Wednesday. The lake effect machine has been in full force for a few days and will be winding down this morning.

Alongside the snowfall, temperatures at Schuss Mountain have dropped enough to start making snow (and lots of it), keeping our mountain crew busy with almost around-the-clock snowmaking. Conditions look favorable for long term snowmaking, so we will be taking advantage of every available moment.

Today’s weather forecast calls for light snow in the morning turning to cloudy skies as the day progresses, with highs near 25 degrees.

Schuss Mountain will be open from 9a-4:30p today with the following runs available:

Village Way, Under and Over, serviced by the Purple Lift.
Elf Buster, serviced by the Magic Carpet.
Concourse, King’s Canyon (late morning opening) and Mellow Yellow, serviced by the Yellow Lift.

Conditions on the slopes are packed powder and machine groomed, but variable depths may occur due to our snowmaking operations taking place on other sections of the mountain and some windy carry has occurred.

WEEKEND HOURS OF OPERATION:

Sat Dec 9 9a-4:30p
Sun Dec 10 9a-4:30p

Lift Tickets and rentals will be $25/each and may be purchased at the Cedar River Snow Sports Center or the Day Lodge located near the Yellow Lift at Schuss Village.

After this weekend, Schuss Mountain will be open daily for the season beginning Friday, December 15th.
