Lee Reis and many others made the most of the snow at the Jordyn Ross clinic on Saturday!

It was a fun day of early season skiing yesterday, especially with steady snowfall throughout the day! Many folks had enjoyed demoing skis on the practice area, which still has excellent conditions after our snowmaking efforts last week. Conditions across the street are improving with each snowfall. After yesterday, we are very close to being able to groom the trail network across the street for good skis (classic and skate). We still need just a couple more inches of snow, and with any luck we will get it today as forecasted.

The best trails are the Mackinaw Cut, Wild Turkey, and Rolling Hills trails, which are 30% good, 60% fair, and 10% marginal. At this time until we get more snow, classic skiing only is permitted on the trails. Rock skis are available for rent at a nominal cost.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe is up and running! Today’s lunch specials are the Gourmet Hammy Sammy, with honey glazed thick sliced spiral ham, swiss cheese, tomato and spicy brown mustard, served on a warm ciabatta bun. We also have creamy ham and potato soup, served with a warm roll and real butter! And don’t forget to try a delicious, home-baked banana walnut muffin.
