XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/21

Conditions on the trails were surprisingly good yesterday, with the premier trails – Rolling Hills, Mackinaw Cut, Wild Turkey and Manitou – still holding up with good to great coverage. These trails are open for classic and skating, just keep an eye out for the occasional thin spot. We will be doctoring the trails this morning to prepare for any amount of snowfall that we may receive in the next 36 hours.

Forecast:

Today: Cloudy. Snow showers developing this afternoon. High 26F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 80%. Snowfall around one inch.

Tonight: Light snow this evening will give way to snow showers late. Low 23F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 70%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Tomorrow: Occasional snow showers. High 31F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 40%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe lunch special is Classic Chili and Bosco Sticks! The only thing better than warming up with a steaming bowl of chili is having a cheese filled breadstick to dip into it. Mmm.

Shop the Christmas sale! Stormy Kromer hats and mittens are on sale every day, as are cross country skis and ski packages!

Let it snow!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Fran, Matt, Kelsey, Alex, Dodge, Kim, Missy, Erin, Mike, Dana, Butch, Brian and the crew
